Abdirahman Ahmed Muhumad has been a Ph.D. student at the SYLFF-Mikrokolleg on ForcedMigration of Ruhr University Bochum since November 2023. Prior to this, Abdirahman workedfor Jigjiga University’s Sociology department as a lecturer and for the Institute of MigrationStudies as a researcher. His research focuses on forced migration (refugees and internaldisplacement), durable solutions, migration, the diaspora, and development. He also taughtcourses on globalization, forced migration, and social development. Currently, his dissertationfocuses on diaspora remittances and transnational social protection.
