Alex Kihehere Mukiga is a PhD candidate at the University of the Western Cape. He holds Masters degree in Public Administration and honours degree in development studies. His research interest is in public policy, urban planning, advocacy, local governance, climate change, and social change. His current research focuses on sanitation activism in the informal settlements of Cape Town. The research investigates how community activism has shaped the policy and planning of sanitation service delivery in the informal settlements in the City of Cape Town South Africa.
