Academic achievements, social engagement initiatives: I completed my PhD in Anthropology at McGill University in October 2021. In November 2021, I embarked on my postdoctoral studies at Concordia University after receiving an FRQSC fellowship. At McGill University, I am member and co-founder of the Racial Justice Working Group within the Department of Anthropology.
Kariuki Kirigia is an FRQSC-postdoctoral fellow within the Sociology & Anthropology Department at Concordia University. His research focuses on the politics of biodiversity conversation and land privatization among the pastoral Maasai of southern Kenya. Kariuki completed a doctorate in Anthropology at McGill University, and an MSc in Sustainable Development at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. At McGill University, Kariuki has taught in the Anthropology Department and the African Studies Program.
