In 2014 She won the first place in the international awards “Des-bordes urbanos” that was organized by the CYTED Network, where she presented preliminary results of her doctoral research.
Laura is a Political scientist graduated from The National University of Colombia, who has specialized in the fields of Public Policy Analysis and territorial studies. She was trained to perform as an analyst, collage professor, researcher and consultant in the public and private sectors. In 2015, she graduated as PHD in Urban and environmental Studies from El Colegio de México.
Since she obtained her master degree in territorial management in 2009, She has been acquiring experience in the formulation and execution of research projects, as well as in the creation of interdisciplinary work teams for the development of diagnoses and planning exercises. Through these activities she acquired knowledge about territorial development, peripheral urbanization, forced displacement and the Public Policy of Attention and Repair to the victims of armed conflicts. Also, she has taught about these topics at National University, Santo Tomás University and Gran Colombia University. Now She teachs and works with the government of her country.
