Loukas Spanos*

Received Sylff fellowship in 1999-2000 at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Loukas is an economist & accredited mediator. Currently, he is the Director
of the Hellenic Financial ADR Center at the Hellenic Financial Ombudsman.
Previously he was Senior Advisor to the Board Chair of the National Bank of
Greece, responsible for CSR & sustainability, where he designed and
implemented a crowdfunding platform (www.act4greece.gr), the first of its
kind in Greece, to support CSR activities aimed to enhance awareness among
the public and to motivate people to contribute to the implementation of
projects that are needed by Greek society. He has over 8 years of
experience in various senior governmental & public affairs roles with
substantial policy-making experience, including serving as the Head of the
Office of the Minister of Labor and the Minister of Economy, and Policy
Advisor at the Hellenic Parliament. He has been member of various Expert
Committee of the Athens Exchange in the field of capital markets and
corporate governance. He has extensive research experience in the fields of
corporate governance & CSR, participating in national & European Projects.
He has written a book on corporate governance & he has published
extensively in the field of corporate governance, CSR & crowdfunding.
Participated in a number of Sylff-related activities, including Visit Japan Program
(2000), the Sylff Regional Forums (2003-2005) and the Provisional Sylff
Fellows Council (2003-2005). Chairman of the Greek Sylff Fellows
Association and member of the Sylff Steering Committee of the University of
Athens.
