Matteo Tranchero is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His research explores how the increasing availability of big data and predictive technologies reshape innovation, strategic decision-making, and organizational search. In his doctoral dissertation, Matteo studied how pharmaceutical firms leverage genomic data in their quest for new drugs and the performance implications of false positive data predictions. At Wharton, Matteo teaches the core strategy class in the full-time MBA program.

Matteo received his PhD from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. He holds a BSc and MSc in Economics from the University of Pisa together with a Diploma and a Diploma Magistrale in Economics and Management from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa.
