I hold a PhD in Anthropology (Univesitat Rovira i Virgili, Spain), MSc in Medical Anthropology (University of Oxford), and a Master in Gender Studies and BA in Social Anthropologist from the University of Chile. I am a researcher and activist in sexual & reproductive health and rights, combining work in academia and civil society organizations. I have been active member of the Latin American movement for the "humanization" of childbirth, as part of RELACAHUPAN (Latin American and Caribbean Network for the Humanization of Childbirth), and currently as director of the Chilean Observatory of Obstetric Violence.
