Salla Garský is a PhD candidate at the Department of Political and Economic Studies, University of Helsinki, Finland, where she received a Sylff fellowship in 2011. She has studied at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, the University of Hamburg, and Princeton University. She specializes in theories of international relations, international criminal law, human rights, and EU and US foreign policy. Salla was selected for a SRA award in February 2012 and conducted her research in Tokyo as an exchange researcher at the Waseda University School of Law for one month in January–February 2013. During her stay in Japan, she conducted archival research and interviews with professors, diplomats, and legal experts in Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Osaka.
