The objective of the program is to support outstanding master's and doctoral students who demonstrate high potential for leadership in the global society. The program is open to all students of the Graduate School of Media and Governance conducting research in the following areas: 1) Global Governance and Regional Strategy, 2) Human Security and Communications, 3) Finance, 4) Policy Making and Social Innovation, 5) Cognition, Sense-Making & Biophysical Skills, 6) Environmental Design and Governance, 7) Media Design, 8) Cyber Informatics and 9) Bioinformatics (as of December 2006).
Fellowships given to students are utilized mainly for tuition fees and research activities. In principle, fellowships are awarded to the students in the first year of their enrollment.
