Godlove is an author of Sustainable tourism and poverty alleviation in South Africa (Publisher: VDM Verlag Dr. Müller (April 8, 2011), ISBN-13: 978-3639297744. He is currently working towards developing a Fair Trade Tourism - Poverty alleviation model and framework that can be used by policy makers and tourism establishments in South Africa and elsewhere.
Bio:
Chifon Godlove Ngek is a PhD candidate at the University of the Western Cape. He holds a masters and honours degrees in Development Studies. His research interest is travel and tourism development, Geography, Environmental Management, Community and Rural Development and Humanitarian Program Management. His current research focuses on Fair Trade Tourism (FTT) and poverty alleviation in South Africa. His research investigates how FTT if properly explored and exploited can potentially play a sustained role in reducing poverty in South Africa. He is a multi-skilled, results-driven professional with over 10 years of professional experience in teaching and research, academic coaching, project cycle management, strategic planning, emergency preparedness, humanitarian programme management, Community and Rural Development. Godlove is currently working as a postgraduate academic writing coach in the Division for Postgraduate Studies (DPGS) at the University of the Western Cape. He became the SYLFF Covid-19 beneficiary in 2021. Godlove is a hardworking individual with good analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
